Dyeing my spun yarn is always an adventure. I have tried commercial dyes and the colors are darker. I like to experiment with other options available. Kool-Aid, Easter Egg Dye and Jello have been fun. The yarn remains colorfast and I have had no problems with "bleeding" or fading - even when the yarn is felted. These colors also come out softer and brighter.
